The Operations Management Club at the Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University, is pleased to present the 13th Annual International Operations Case Competition on November 7-8, 2008. Top-tier schools from all over the United States and abroad were invited to participate in this prestigious event. Teams were given several hours to brainstorm and then present their strategy on operational issues presented in the case, written by Thermo Fisher Scientific. A panel of judges from industry judged the teams on sound reasoning, analysis of the problem, and strong business assessment.
The Tepper School of Business Operations Club would like to congratulate the winners of the 2008 ICC:
1st Place Team - Sloan School of Management, MIT
2nd Place Team - Johnson School, Cornell University
3rd Place Team - Broad Graduate School of Management, Michigan State University
Prizes were as follows: 1st place: $8,000; 2nd place: $4,000; 3rd place: $2,000.

The Ops Club extends a warm thank you to the more than 60 volunteers, faculty, and staff who helped make the International Case Competition a success. Many of the visiting participants commented that the event was very professionally organized and executed. In addition, the Tepper team finished with an Honorable Mention! We know you have busy schedules, and we sincerely appreciate you donating part of your weekend to help out with the case competition.
